4:11 pm - life after death
|
hey everyone who never took us off your friend lists, i figured id hop on this and give you a bit of an update as to what the young idea boys have been up to since the break up...unfortunatly i have lost touch with most of the boys but ill do my best to fill you in on what they are up to as well...
mike-i am in a band called Querencia, featuring members of tons of sweet bands that are no longer together...we have a cello and piano...so thats neat, for info on my life and my band add
memphi
to your friends...our first show is on dec 20 with wolves and transister transister...info on that will be on my lj.
bob-bob moved back to nh and is currently working on several projects, as well as looking into colleges.
ryan-still in boston and working on a band with former members of since the flood and what not, i saw them jam and was really really into it, unfortunatly they prob wont be playing shows for awhile due to situations beyond their control...when they do play out though ill surely be there to do some serious rocking out.
tony-tony is living in providence and as far as i know still plays drums from time to time, i have heard rumors of him moving to seattle with his girlfriend...he also has absurd amounts of animals sharing his home
shawn-the origional bass player of the young idea is going to keene state college and will one day educate your children.
justin-the other bass player of the young idea moved to nh with his girlfriend. he has been practicing with rosenthal, his band before the young idea, but unfortunatly steve, their guitarist broke his hand so things may be put on the back burner until after his hand heals and he returns from italy where steven is going to study abroad.
kevin-the replacement guitar player (after ryan left the band) remains a soldier in the fight against fake rock. he is an artist and a hell of a dancer.
some of these dudes have ljs, i would post them, but im not sure they would want that...so ill let them do it themselves!
i love and miss you guys, get in touch, and see you on the 20th.
WE WANT THE WORLD AND WANT IT NOW <3mike

4:27 pm - the young idea break up
|
today the young idea broke up...sorry for getting your hopes up about seeing kevin driscoll do it with us but unfortunatly we are no longer a band...it has nothing to do with kevin, it was simply decided that certain members didnt want to play anymore.
with that said i am ready and willing to be in other bands...i work hard and i think im a nice guy...
...im gonna go cry now.
thanks for the memories.

2:40 pm - NEWS FLASH
|
ok so we have gotten a ton of responses to our request for a new guitarist (some crazy offers from some big bands too!) and we are really excited to begin the tryout process this coming week...
in other news we will indeed be touring as schedualed in June...we will have all the dates posted on the site and here in a day or two...in the emantime we will be finding the new member and figuring out what we are going to do for the tour line up...either way we are excited and ready to go at this with a new enthusiasm.
thank you all for the continued love and support... i hope that it continues through this line up change (although i can say some of the kids interested in trying out are intimidating with their goodness)
see you in the basement. <3mike and the young idea kiddies.

8:25 pm - the Young Idea line up change
|
Ryan has decided to leave the Young Idea to pursue other goals, as a result the Young Idea will be forced to cancel all of our upcoming shows until tour (starting june 1)...
...if you are interested in trying out for the newly open guitar position in the band feel free to email us @ theyoungidea@theyoungidea.com or to call us @ (617) 721 7241.
we have a few people ready to tryout but we really wanna try as many people as possible before we commit to a new member. being in the Young Idea requires a willingness to practice often (multiple times a week), play out often, and to tour wayyy too much.
i look forward to hearing from all interested parties and starting this new chapter for the Young Idea.
thank you, mike and the young idea kids...
